I use a company called Travel Counsellors to book my holidays. Don’t judge me just yet!
It’s not because I make a tonne of money or because I’m lazy. It’s simply because I’m far too busy with life. Work, children, bills and all the other things that seem to take up every waking hour.
By the time I finally stop, the last thing I want to do is spend my evening checking flights, researching hotels, comparing locations, sorting car hire and then comparing everything all over again.
Is the hotel suitable for the kids? Is the location right? How far is it from the airport? Are there enough things to keep everyone entertained?
It’s not quite as simple as a week at Butlins anymore!
Most families work hard all year for that one or two weeks away, and you want it to be perfect. Or at least as perfect as it can be for what you can afford.
So I tell my travel counsellor where we’d like to go, what we want to do and how much I’ve got to spend. They go away, do the research and put everything together.
All we have to do is turn up at the airport. Although, with two kids, even that can be a challenge!
But enough about my holidays. Let’s talk about cars.
