A 5-year journey…

With years of experience within the used car industry, I was often getting asked by friends and family if I were able to find them a car for trade prices. From this National Car Finder was born 5 years ago this month. We take the stress and hassle of finding a car away from you, freeing you up of that wasted time looking around garages. It has been a fantastic 5 years, working with some brilliant people and finding some beautiful cars. With it being our birthday in March we wanted to share some highlights of the last 5 years and some of our plans for the future.

There seems no better place to start than with how we built our fantastic team that we now have today. Liam joined the business when he left a football academy looking for a career path 4 years ago – We had previously played cricket together for Ruddington for 3-4 years and I, therefore, invited him down to work at NCF. It’s a partnership that has well and truly blossomed over the last 4 years, which has resulted in Liam being recently promoted to Sales Manager which he has taken on brilliantly.

How did National Car Finder end up in Ruddington? I moved from the West Midlands to Ruddington around 14 years ago due to work commitments after starting a family. I was driving around the country covering auctions all over and I realised I was missing out on my daughter’s childhood and the work-life balance wasn’t working. I was working in the car auction world and had done since I left school but was constantly being asked if I could help get a car/van for friends and family. That’s when I started thinking of utilising all my contacts to deliver good quality cars at good prices to people’s doors, with this, National Car Finder was created. At first it was friends and family but as word spread our client based increased and we have been delivering cars from Scotland to the Southend ever since.

As we have grown, we have become more fortunate, meaning we were able to support some fantastic causes. We currently support the brilliant Mustard Seed Project who are a small UK charity providing quality education in their brand-new school, health care and a feeding programme to 300 poor African children in this deprived area of Kenya. We also sponsor Ruddington Cricket Club, (Walsall Ladies) and Gedling Girls U10`s football club which we have done for the past three years. During the pandemic, we have helped to keep members engaged by hosting Bingo nights and quiz nights.

At the start of the pandemic like many businesses, we were extremely worried that we would have to close. As I couldn’t work, I volunteered to deliver shopping, prescriptions and beer for a local brewery. Since the reopening the business has gone from strength to strength, with our business model certainly managing to continue within the pandemic, everything can be done remotely, and cars can be delivered without a person leaving their house, don’t hesitate to get in contact for your dream car.

What are National Car Finders plans for the future? In the next year or so we are looking to add to our excellent workforce by bringing new team members onto the team. If business levels continue to be as high as they have been, we will certainly need additional members of staff to cope with the demand, however, we plan to keep the business as personable as possible as that is what makes National Car Finder unique.

The last 5 years has been a fantastic journey, and we couldn’t thank every single one of our customers enough, and we look forward to what the future will bring.
